BALI – The Governor of Quirino Province of Philippines, Dakila Carlo E Cua, said he was interested in the Touching Heart Protocol programme initiated by Makassar Mayor Moh. Ramdhan “Danny” Pomanto.
The programme, which aims to build connectedness between the government and the community, is implemented by the sub-district heads and village heads by routinely meeting the community.
The village heads and sub-district heads visited the residents to find out what problems were happening in the community.
Danny Pomanto said that the implementation of the Heart Touch Protocol programme runs every Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. After that, the results of each meeting will be reported directly to him.
That way, any problems that occur in the Makassar region can be resolved properly.
Dakila Carlo E Cua said all the content presented by Danny Pomanto at the International Workshop in Bali was extraordinary.
After seeing Danny’s presentation, he said Makassar City is now one of the benchmarks of his programmes.
“We want to follow what the mayor has done. He has very good innovation and leadership skills,” said Dakila at the 10th World Water Forum International Workshop at Courtyard Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali, Tuesday (21/5).
Of the various points conveyed by Danny Pomanto, he said he was very interested in the concept of Touching Heart Protocol.
It is because the programme pushes leaders such as sub-district and village heads to go to their community, to meet their own people, to find out what they want.
“We underline this concept and we want to implement this idea in our society,” he says.
Moreover, according to him, people’s behavior in the current era is quite a challenge. So changes to people’s behavior must be made.
“This example (Touching Heart Protocol) is very good for us,” he said.
