MAKASSAR – The Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Makassar City held Tax Award 2024 at Phinisi Ballroom Claro, Friday (6/12/2024).
Makassar Mayor Moh. Ramdhan “Danny” Pomanto along with Chairwoman of Makassar TP PKK and the ranks of Forkopimda were present at the event.
The Head of Makassar Bapenda Firman Pagarra mentioned that the awarding of outstanding managers and taxpayers is a form of appreciation from the city government for their contribution to regional development through tax payments.
“This event is a motivation and a campaign, an invitation for all taxpayers to maintain and improve their tax compliance in order to contribute to develop the region,” he concluded.
The former Head of Public Relations also reported that, with the enactment of Law No. 1 of 2022 on Financial Relations between the Central Government and Regional Governments, all regency/city governments will manage vehicle tax, motor vehicle tax, and motor vehicle registration fees.
“Of course, Insha Allah, by the end of 2025, the potential in motor vehicle tax will be Rp300 billion to Rp400 billion. So, if we reach Rp1.6 trillion this year, Insha Allah, we will reach Rp2 trillion by the end of 2025,” said Firman.
Mayor Danny Pomanto also said in his speech that he appreciated Bapenda for being able to maintain the tradition of rewarding all taxpayers who are always obedient and compliant in paying their taxes for the development of a city.
“Mr. Firman and his team have succeeded in maintaining a tradition of appreciating taxpayers. Without our obedience, Makassar would not be the fifth largest city in Indonesia for regional revenue (PAD),” he said.
Awards were given to hundreds of taxpayers and 19 taxpayers who took the stage. Electric motorbikes were also given to 15 sub-districts as operational vehicles in increasing revenue.
The Tax Award 2024 was closed with the performance of the band POTRET, fronted by Melly Goeslaw. They performed dozens of their best songs.
