KLUNGKUNG – The Sixth Balinese Language Month in Klungkung Regency is officially underway. This activity was opened by Acting Regent I Nyoman Jendrika on Monday (5/2) in the courtyard of Semarajaya Museum.
With the theme of Jana Kerthi Dharma Sadhu Nuraga, the Sixth Balinese Language Month will last for 3 days until 7 February 2024.
In his speech, the Acting Regent of Klungkung I Nyoman Jendrika said that Balinese Language Month is a means to maintain the preservation and glory of Balinese language, script, and literature.
According to him, this activity is one way to ensure that Balinese language, script, and literature will continue to exist and be used by the community.
“We, the Klungkung Regency Government, really appreciate the implementation of this Sixth Balinese Language Month,” he said.
“With this activity, it is hoped that Balinese language, script, and literature, which is a legacy from the ancestors, will be increasingly and always preserved – not only during this festival, but Balinese language, literature, and script can be used in everyday life,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Head of the Klungkung Regency Culture Office I Ketut Suadnyana said that various activities are held to enliven the event initiated by the Bali Provincial Government.
Among them is the Nyurat Aksara Bali Festival held in front of the Ida Dewa Agung Jambe Monument, which brought 500 participants from elementary and junior high school students as well as Madrasahs.
There will also be Balinese-language debate, nyurat lontar, and Balinese-language speech competitions.
Also present at the opening of the Sixth Balinese Language Month were representatives of Forkopimda members, the Chairperson of the Klungkung Regency MDA, assistants and expert staff of the regent, as well as all Heads of OPDs within the Klungkung Regency Government.
