JAKARTA – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas appreciates the steps and efforts taken by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in implementing bureaucratic reform (BR) and performance accountability.
This is demonstrated by the ministry’s Bureaucratic Reform Index and Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) Index, which have continued to increase in the last five years.
“Together with the Minister of BUMN, I held various discussions, one of which was the performance of BUMN. The government has conducted an assessment related to the performance accountability system in various ministries and institutions as mandated by the President. And we see various performance achievements from the BUMN Ministry that we need to appreciate,” said Minister Anas when meeting BUMN Minister Erick Thohir at the Ministry of PANRB Office, Wednesday (14/8).
It was conveyed that the Ministry of BUMN obtained category A or Satisfactory in the BR assessment in 2023 and category B or Very Good for the SAKIP assessment in the same year.
The various efforts made by the Ministry of BUMN include simplifying the bureaucracy, trimming business processes, and digitalisation.
According to him, the Ministry of BUMN’s achievement in the implementation of bureaucratic reforms that have been quite good is expected to have an impact on the wider community and economic growth.
The increase in the BR Index value of the Ministry of BUMN is not only due to the assessment of the implementation of General BR within the ministry which is already good. Rather, it is also supported by the contribution of the ministry in carrying out five thematic BR focuses.
Furthermore, appreciation was also expressed for the performance of the Ministry of BUMN which was able to carry out institutional arrangements within BUMN, such as the merger of Pelindo.
This effort is considered to increase effectiveness and efficiency, so that the state-owned company can move more agile in providing services to the community.
Meanwhile, BUMN Minister Erick Thohir said that the efficiency and implementation of bureaucratic reforms carried out at the Ministry of BUMN is an adaptation of what the Ministry of PANRB has done in terms of simplifying the civil service process.
According to him, there are three main performance indicators in the Ministry of BUMN, namely contributing to state revenues through dividend payments, taxes, and other Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP).
Then supporting economic growth through the completion of various national strategy projects. Lastly, actively participating in the people’s economy, starting from the development and assistance of MSMEs.
“Of course, we are not complacent with this. We will continue to transform together with the guidance of the Minister of PANRB and the ranks in order to lead all BUMN to be increasingly efficient and have clear benchmarks, and can increasingly contribute more to the nation,” he concluded.
