BANYUWANGI – As the end of the year approaches, the Banyuwangi Regency Government continues to monitor road construction for the 2024 period so that it can be completed on target.
Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani continues to directly check the progress of the construction of a number of roads that are being worked on.
One of the roads that Ipuk monitored was the construction of the 1.4 kilometre Rogojampi-Songgon road. It is located in Singolatren Village, Singojuruh Subdistrict. The road is a district axis road that connects Rogojampi and Songgon sub-districts.
“The construction of this road is one of the main priorities for road infrastructure development this year as this road is the main road that connects the sub-districts and the main entrance for Songgon residents who will leave the area,” she said.
The road construction, she added, is also to complete the construction of the 13-kilometre Rogojampi-Songgon road that was built in the previous year.
“With the completion of this section, hopefully, all residents’ affairs will become smoother, both for economic activities, education, and supporting tourism activities. Given that the Songgon area has many interesting tourist destinations,” said Ipuk.
“Let’s take care of this road together, especially now that we are welcoming the rainy season with high rainfall. The residents can help maintain the drainage along the road so that the road is not flooded,” she added.
Ebta Andharisandi, Acting Secretary of the Public Works Cipta Karya Housing and Settlement (CKPP) Office, added that development in the three areas that cover the Rogojampi-Singojuruh road section, namely Rogojampi Sub-district, Singojuruh Sub-district, and Songgon Sub-district, will continue to be carried out from 2021-2024. The total length of the road constructed reached 169.3 kilometres.
“Everything has been completed, specifically the 2024 budget has reached 90 per cent and is targeted to be completed before the end of the year,” Ebta said.
