MAKASSAR – Makassar International Eight Festival and Forum (Makassar F8) 2023 will be held on August 23. The international event that has been held since 2016 will be even more spectacular this year.
It is because that Makassar F8, under the care of PT Festival Delapan, will present five international designers.
The five designers come from Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines and Laos.
“It has been confirmed that they will present,” said Wawan Setyawan, Director of PT Festival Delapan, Thursday (27/7).
These international designers will later collaborate with local designers to display extraordinary masterpieces in the fashion sector.
“So, the characteristics of the five countries will be shown on the F8 stage. We will see their collaborations with local designers who are unique in their lontara batik,” he said.
This year’s F8, he added, will be present by maximizing cultural roots, contributing to improving the quality of human beings combined in elements of modernization or renewal that are running rapidly.
This will be combined with the rich arts and culture from all over Indonesia as a great national heritage.
The Makassar F8 also hopes to continue to revive the creative economy industry and other sectors.
