JAKARTA – The Directorate General of Village Government Development (Ditjen Bina Pemdes) of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) encourages the acceleration of completing village boundaries as it is is directly related to village authority.
This was conveyed by the Director General (Dirjen) of Bina Pemdes of Kemendagri Dr. Eko Prasetyanto in the Village Officials Training Module Development Workshop in Determining and Affirming Village Boundaries (PPBDes) in the Village Governance Strengthening and Developing Program (P3PD) in Jakarta, Tuesday.
Eko explained that P3PD is a government program in supporting the implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, which is structurally overseen by several ministries and institutions.
To carry out this program, he added, Ditjen Bina Pemdes in 2023 will hold training sessions as a series of P3PD activities, with one of the themes being to support the acceleration of completing village boundary maps.
The event will go by title “Training for Village Officials in Determining and Confirming Village Boundaries (PPBDes) in The Context of Structuring Village Authority and Increasing Village Original Income”.
“Indeed, there is a very close connection between village boundaries and village authority, which is related to optimizing the use of the Village Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBDes) which aims to make a developed, independent and prosperous village,” Eko said.
Furthermore, Eko added, the PPBDes training activities will be carried out in 6,285 villages spread across 886 sub-districts and 140 districts/cities in 31 provinces.
Eko reminded that Presidential Regulation (PP) Number 23 of 2021 concerning Amendments to PP Number 9 of 2016 concerning Amendments to PP Number 9 of 2016 concerning Accelerating the Implementation of the One Map Policy at the 1:50,000 Scale Map Accuracy Level mandates a target time and location for completing village boundary maps from 2021 to 2023.
According to him, the PP contains targets for completing village boundary maps throughout Indonesia that must be completed–10 provinces in 2021, 12 provinces in 2022, and 11 provinces in 2023.
Eko also conveyed a report from the Provincial PPBDes Team to Ditjen Bina Pemdes until May 2023.
About a total of 3,326 villages (4.42%) have been completed and ratified in the Regent/Mayor Regulation concerning Village Boundary Maps from 75,265 villages in Indonesia.
“In an effort to accelerate the completion of village boundary maps and to ensure orderly administration of government, provide clarity and legal certainty regarding the boundaries of a village’s territory, a training concept is needed to increase capacity, especially for Village Officials, who understand conditions in their respective villages better, both socially and regionally,” explained Eko.(NEWS ADVERTORIAL)
