THE EDITOR – The Village Governance and Development Strengthening Programme (P3PD) training has given Kutuh Village Head I Wayan Mudana the courage and creativity to develop a Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDes) in the form of a Pertamina Shop (Pertashop) to serve tourists.
It is known that P3PD is one of the ways the government strengthens institutional capacity and accountability systems that will lead to improved spending quality at the village level.
Kutuh Village as one of the richest regions in Indonesia is well known for its BUMDes that encourage community businesses in various fields.
However, the P3PD training has opened up new horizons of thinking for I Wayan to further develop the village business.
One of the businesses he has developed is Pertashop. It serves tourists and aims to bring them traveling to the village’s beautiful beaches without any worry.
“Business developments that we can develop involve third parties. Yesterday we opened Pertashop after attending the training (P3PD),” said I Wayan to The Editor.
Currently, he said, the BUMDes of Kutuh Village, which was established in 2016, is able to manage many businesses, such as the sale of goods and services, waste collection, and body care or SPA business.
But, I Wayan admits that the P3PD training gave him a new mindset in developing the BUMDes named Manik Sedana further for the development of his village.
“In the first semester alone, we can achieve revenues of up to 600 million because our target for this year is 1.2 billion. This is the target,” he said.
So, he continued, Kutuh Village can fulfill Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian’s hope that each village will be able to increase their respective PAD (Regional Original Revenue) figures every year.
“The minister’s obsession (to increase) village PAD is open as wide as possible to be high in the future,” he explained.
MINISTER TITO WANTS VILLAGE OFFICIALS TO IMPROVE PADS
Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian at the National Gathering and Awarding of Outstanding Villages and Villages in 2024 at the Ksirarnawa Art Center Building in Bali on Wednesday (8/10/2024) requested that village officials be able to increase their respective PAD.
So that in the future, villages in Indonesia no longer rely on funds from the center in developing their areas.
So, he admitted that he would never split the village without clear rules.
“But it is able to get PAD. It’s called PADes in the village. That is actually the goal. That’s why if there is expansion of villages and sub-districts, we do not approve it. Otherwise it will only be a burden,” said Tito.
