JAKARTA – Makassar Mayor Moh. Ramdhan “Danny” Pomanto won the 2024 Regional Government Performance Appreciation in the category of City Level Total Performance for medium fiscal regions.
The appreciation given by the Ministry of Home Affairs in collaboration with Tempo Media Group complemented the Makassar City Government’s 420th award under Danny Pomanto’s leadership.
The award was handed over by Acting Secretary General of the Ministry of Home Affairs Tomsi Tohir to Danny Pomanto at the 2024 Regional Government Performance Appreciation Night held at JW Marriot Hotel, South Jakarta, Thursday (12/12).
Based on an accurate assessment by the jury, the Regional Government Appreciation was given to 54 regions in Indonesia at the city, regency, and provincial levels.
In this appreciation night, the Ministry of Home Affairs together with Tempo Media Group gave appreciation for four categories. They are the categories of public services, community welfare, regional competitiveness, and total performance.
“For Makassar City, the category is total performance, which means all measures are functioning well,” said Danny Pomanto when interviewed after receiving the award.
Soon to end his term of office, for Danny Pomanto, this award is a reunion momentum with Tempo Media.
Moreover, Tempo Media has always been an important part in the long journey of Makassar City Government. Last September, Tempo Media also honoured Danny Pomanto as Indonesian Figure 2024.
“We have received several awards from Tempo Media. And I think, the most prestigious award from Tempo is the award that we will always remember from the acceleration of a government with the people, with all OPDs, and all elements that make Makassar becoming like this,” he explained.
President Director of Tempo Media Group Arif Zulkifli in his speech congratulated all the regional governments that received the awards.
He argued that this idea is very important and meaningful in the midst of various challenges as a nation in facing democracy.
“Congratulations to the winning regional heads who were selected based on the categories and criteria,” said Arif Zulkifli.
Meanwhile, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian in his speech said that the Ministry of Home Affairs divides regional categories based on fiscal capacity.
Strong fiscal strength is characterised by higher Regional Original Revenue (PAD) compared to central transfer funds.
Medium fiscal is characterised by PAD and central transfer funds that are in balance or the difference between the two is small. The ratio of transfer revenue to own-source revenue is less than 25 per cent.
While weak fiscal capacity is where PAD depends on central transfer income.
“I see these criteria used by the jury and I thank them very much,” said Minister Tito.
