JAKARTA – The Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) through the Directorate General of Village Government Development (Ditjen Bina Pemdes) is encouraging the capacity building of village government officials through various upcoming training sessions.
This is because the village government–together with the community–is the subject of development which must be able to draw up its own development plan, which is in accordance with the authority, through deliberations which are aligned with regional development.
This was conveyed by the Director General of Bina Pemdes Eko Prasetyanto when opening the 2023 Village Officials Training Consolidation Preparation Meeting in Jakarta.
“In the implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages, capacity building for village government officials is one of the government’s priority agenda at this time,” said Eko.
“The development of the capacity of village government officials is also very strategic, where many parties question the capacity of village government officials in implementing Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages as a whole,” he added.
Therefore, it is important for the village government to have complete information and good skills in running the governance, which can be obtained from the prepared training sessions.
These trainings include village officials training (basic); training in determining, affirming, and validating village borders; training/guidance for using the village financial and asset management applications; training to strengthen the Village Consultative Council (BPD); training to strengthen the PKK; training to strengthen the village cooperation; training to strengthen village community institutions/village customary institutions; and training to strengthen the Posyandu.
Out of a total of 75,625 villages, Bina Pemdes has set a target of 33,458 villages to take part in these trainings.
This number means 45% of the total existing villages and/or nearly 50% of the total target villages participating in the Village Governance Strengthening and Developing Program (P3PD), which totals 67,000 villages.
P3PD itself is a government program created as a form of implementation of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages.
This program is overseen by the Ministry of Home Affairs as the executing agency–or what is more commonly called as Component 1, the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT) as Component 2, as well as the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture Affairs (Kemenko PMK) and the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency (Ministry of PPN/Bappenas) as Component 3.
In addition to training sessions, Bina Pemdes also provides guidance, assistance and supervision, to monitoring and evaluation (NEWS ADVERTORIAL).
