THE EDITOR – Dozens of village heads in Bangli Regency, Bali, are administering village borders to the government after participating in the Village Governance and Development Strengthening Programme (P3PD) training at the end of 2023.
“After the P3PD training, many village heads immediately contacted us to finalize their village border matters,” said The Head of Community and Village Empowerment Service (PMD) Population Control and Family Planning (PPKB) Bangli Regency, Bali and P3PD Training Facilitator Komang Agus Hariwibawa (47) told The Editor.
So far, he continued, of the 68 villages in Bangli Regency, only 4 villages have village borders.
This is because managing village borders is not a common programme for village heads in the region.
Pleased with the requests of the village heads, Komang is now confident that the face of Bangli Regency will change as its officials become more diligent and creative.
The awareness that village officials have during the training, according to him, is a special gift for the perfection of the regency’s administrative order in the future.
“Therefore, the P3PD training has a lot of success too,” he said.
Not only about village administration and borders, Komang said that the role of the Women’s Welfare Empowerment (PKK) group also became more visible after the training.
One of the things that became a highlight was the preparation of village work programmes that began to involve active PKK women.
“After the P3PD training, women’s response has been extraordinary. One of them is about the proposal for the preparation of the village programme – they (PKK) are now more responsive,” he said.
In administration, the Bangli Regency PMD sees that the PKK is also quite active in village meetings after attending P3PD training.
In handling the problem of malnutrition or stunting, according to him, so far the PKK in Bangli Regency has begun to propose various kinds of needs that are in accordance with the conditions in their respective areas.
“Before, let’s say when the scales were damaged, they didn’t dare to propose a new one. It is not like that anymore, it has changed,” he said.
