JAKARTA – Secretary of the Directorate General of Village Governance of the Ministry of Home Affairs Paudah said that the Strengthening Village Governance and Development Programme (P3PD) is one of the central government’s programmes to increase the capacity of village officials through training.

This capacity building is needed to prepare superior human resources in order to realize the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.

“Village officials are trained on administrative systems, planning, financial management, and so on,” she said in a press release from the Directorate General of Village Development, Thursday (14/12).

Paudah believes that P3PD is a capacity-building programme, so it cannot be implemented just once as it requires time and continuity.

“Today’s P3PD is an important part of us aligning villages with cities, to jointly contribute to Golden Indonesia,” she explained.

According to Mrs. Paudah, P3PD will equip village officials to conduct village planning so that they can properly implement village expenditure.

“For example, how to overcome stunting in the village, how to open a job–because the workforce is in the village. As the productive age is in the village, it must prepare some businesses,” she said.

Paudah reminded that the allocation of funds for stunting, posyandu, and the development of infrastructure access that facilitates roads for agriculture needs to be considered because these will all be closely related to whether or not Indonesia realizes the ideals of the Golden Indonesia of 1945.

“Maybe now it has existed, but it may not be perfect. We remind you that we are preparing for a time when there will be a large number of productive-age generations, we have to prepare for that,” she said.
