Ministry of Home Affairs Asks P3PD to Target 66 Thousand Villages in Indonesia

Must read

JAKARTA – The Village Governance Strengthening and Developing Program (P3PD) formed by the Indonesian government and the World Bank will target 66,000 villages.

The Director General (Dirjen) of Village Government Development (Bina Pemdes) of Ministry of Home Affairs Eko Prasetyanto Purnomo Putro said that P3PD currently has made many significant contributions to development in villages throughout Indonesia.

According to him, this achievement needs to be thanked for because it has covered almost all provinces in 380 regencies/cities. In other words, this means that it represents about 71 percent of districts/cities in Indonesia.

“The same goes for the villages. Out of 75,265 villages, currently there are approximately 66,496 targeted by P3PD, meaning 88% alone,” said Eko in Jakarta.

To realize these efforts, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also organized a Training of Trainers (ToT) to increase the number of trainers.

Apart from that, training modules have also been completed–although they are still being processed, reviewed, and so on.

“Then, for delegations at the central, we hope there will be servers and so on that can retrieve data, improve village and administrative village profile data. Then in the regions we will have thematic and basic training,” he explained.

And this achievement, continued Eko, will be a legacy because the knowledge of the village apparatus will further develop thanks to thematic basic training.

“This is quite significant for village development in Indonesia,” he concluded.
