JAKARTA – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas supports the strengthening of the continuous transformation of Indonesian National Police (Polri).

Anas supports the transformation of the Polri to continue to be carried out on the grand design of institutions, digitalisation, as well as culture and human resources. This is in line with the determination of digital transformation of a clean, effective, and competitive government.

Minister Anas hopes that the Polri Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang) can encourage the realization of humanist police with a citizen centric service orientation.

“Humanist police play an important role in building public trust through a more empathetic approach and understanding the needs of the community,” he said as a guest speaker at the 2024 Polri Musrenbang in Jakarta, Tuesday (9/7).

Anas cited the good practices of three countries that have reformed their police forces, namely Denmark, Australia, and the United States.

The three countries show that reforms lead to humanist police branding and the utilization of technology, including competence in the use of technology that police officers must have.

He further said that Polri’s efforts to strengthen its mastery of technology can be done through the implementation of the Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE).

The integration of public services into the Public Service Portal, he added, is an essential step in the effort to provide excellent public services.

The challenges of digital services today require a change from complicated, complex, and lengthy conditions, to simpler, easier, faster, and more transparent conditions.

“In the future, people only need to log in once and fill in data to be able to access various services in one portal, with secure personal data and without the need to photocopy ID cards,” said Anas.

In response to this challenge, Polri has simplified the business process of event licensing services from 180 working days to 14 days as part of digital transformation.

Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) General Listyo Sigit Prabowo on the same occasion expressed his commitment in line with the Minister’s message.

“We continue to encourage the institution of Polri and digital transformation as part of public services, including the task of uniting all portals in one system to facilitate services,” he concluded.
