MAKASSAR – Regional officials from all over Indonesia are encouraged to learn from the Makassar City Government in order to increase regional revenue from the tax sector.
This follows the success of Makassar Mayor Moh Ramdhan “Danny” Pomanto in breaking his record for the first time with the achievement of IDR 1,5 trillion in Regional Original Revenue (PAD) in 2023.
“Yes, they should. Officials should go to Makassar to learn about Pakinta’s innovations,” said Executive Director of the Committee for Monitoring the Implementation of Regional Autonomy (KPPOD) Armand Suparman in a talk with The Editor.
Makassar City Government’s Pakinta innovation, he continued, will be a challenge for regional officials who want to learn it.
Especially those related to data collection. According to Armand, Danny Pomanto quite successfully carried it out.
“For regional officials, it may be difficult to compile data and input it. But it will not be a thing if they are committed. It’s just a matter of commitment,” he said.
In line with Suparman, Professor Diah Natalisa mentioned that the PAKINTA innovation has succeeded in encouraging transparent and fast tax services.
In addition, according to her, this innovation has also succeeded in boosting the potential for tax revenue since the data collected by the Makassar City Government is well stored in PAKINTA.
She hopes that regional officials who have learnt from Makassar City Government will immediately implement PAKINTA to boost their respective PAD.
“The Makassar City Government achieved IDR 1,5 trillion in regional revenue. This value is recorded as the highest revenue in the history of Makassar City Government thanks to the PAKINTA application,” said the former Deputy for Public Services of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPANRB).
“In addition to digitalisation and integration of services that make it easier for the community, tax officers also provide transparent and fast services so that PAD increases and tax potential begins to emerge due to data collection,” she concluded.
As is known, the Revenue Management Agency (Bapenda) of Makassar City managed to make an amazing achievement. The achievement is to invite the public to pay Land and Building Tax (PBB) by attending art and cultural events.
The transaction value of PBB payment during the F8 Makassar event which only lasted for 5 days reached IDR 3.073 billion.
The International Eight Festival or F8 Makassar is an annual festival of Makassar City that combines eight arts festivals at one time consisting of food, fashion, fusion music, film, fine art, fiction writers, folks, and flora and fauna.
