JAKARTA – If the village is developed, independent and prosperous, the central government will also experience the same thing.

This was conveyed by the Director General (Dirjen) of Village Government Development (Bina Pemdes) of the Ministry of Home Affairs Eko Prasetyanto Purnomo Putro at the National Working Meeting and Announcement of the 2023 Village and Administrative Village Competition (Lomdeskel) at the Discovery Hotel, Ancol a while ago.

“If the villages of one’s country are developed, independent and prosperous, I’m sure the upper governance will also move forward and prosper,” he said in his speech.

The village has a function to move the nation forward.

By seeing a village as a candle, while the successes that occur in it as a fire, Indonesia will be ablaze with success and progress.

“The village is a function of the progress of Indonesia. So it is not wrong to say that Indonesia will not shine with just one big torch in Jakarta. With small candles in the villages, Indonesia will shine brighter,” he said.

Currently, according to regulations, the government is encouraging the growth of villages so that their development is evenly distributed.

The aim is for villages to develop themselves, to prevent urbanization, and to avoid concentration of people in cities.

A number of institutions participating in encouraging village growth are the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Ministry of National Development Planning/National Development Planning Agency, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy/Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, and the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions, and Transmigration.

“So collaborative policy is very important between us,” said Eko.

Not only that, cooperation in developing villages also involves the private sector, academia, the media, and the people of the village itself.

However, one of the things that is still a weakness and needs to be corrected in the community is the tendency to not want to share information about how to develop their respective regions.

It is hoped that this will not happen again in the future.

One of the efforts is to prepare villages and administrative villages that won in Lomdeskel to share their knowledge and experience with other villages and administrative villages throughout Indonesia.

“We have to know our own strengths and weaknesses,” said Eko.

The Directorate General of Bina Pemdes of the Ministry of Home Affairs had given awards to villages and administrative villages that were selected as champions, ranked second, and ranked third in the 2023 Lomdeskel Regional Level at the Discovery Hotel, Ancol, on Tuesday (15/8 ) evening.

The award certificate was given directly by the Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian to each winner. (NEWS ADVERTORIAL)
