JAKARTA – Digital transformation is an important part that must be carried out in order to realize better and more integrated public services.
The urgency of digital transformation was emphasized by Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Minister Abdullah Azwar Anas in front of the participants of the Regular Education Programme (PPRA) Batch LXVI Year 2024 of the National Resilience Institute (Lemhannas), in Jakarta, Tuesday (25/6).
“As future leaders and leaders, all of us must understand that the success of digital transformation and service integration lies in change management and a strong organizational culture. Therefore, leadership commitment is one of the keys,” he said.
Furthermore, he explained that there are two aspects that are the focus of transformation towards the Golden Indonesia 2045. They are the transformation of government performance accountability (AKIP) and digital transformation and the integration of digital services.
According to him, Indonesia is currently at a crossroads and a crucial period of government digital transformation that will determine the nation’s digital life in the next few decades.
The former Head of the Government Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) even brought up what breakthroughs the government has made to encourage the success of the digital transformation journey.
First, the launch of Indonesian Government Technology (GovTech) named INA Digital by President Joko Widodo.
INA Digital is tasked with coordinating the integration of government digital services that have been separated in thousands of applications belonging to ministries/agencies and regional governments.
The launching came when the integration and interoperability of digital services has become a pattern in a number of developed countries, leading people not bothered in accessing various government services.
“Stories of successful digitalisation for development have also occurred in other countries. India achieved its projected development target in 47 years in just 7 years, a 40-year acceleration. Estonia experienced 10 times GDP growth in 20 years with digitalisation. China reduced poverty significantly in 5 years with digital financial inclusion,” he said.
In addition, the government has also successfully simplified the business process of event licensing services. The ease of this aims to attract more foreign tourists to Indonesia.
In this case, digitalisation is a solution to provide convenience, certainty, and cut bureaucracy.
“Event organization is one of the many applications that will be integrated into the national integrated public service portal. The government will realize an integrated public service portal based on the needs of the human life journey from birth to old age and even death,” he said.
Concluding his lecture, Minister Anas invited the future leaders and leaders who are currently participants of PPRA Batch LXVI Year 2024 of Lemhannas to become digital-minded leaders.
Such leaders will become role models and bring digital transformation breakthroughs in their respective institutions.
“We hope that the participants of PPRA Batch LXVI Year 2024 of Lemhannas can take part in the future, so that the impact of digitalisation can be immediately felt by the community and every policy made by the government or people in their respective agencies can continue to bring changes to the bureaucracy which is more agile and less complicated,” he concluded.
