THE EDITOR – The Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forpimda) of Banyuwangi directly monitored the 2024 Regional Head General Election (Pilkada) at a number of polling stations in the region. It was carried out to ensure that the Pilkada went smoothly and the atmosphere was conducive.
The monitoring was carried out by Forpimda Banyuwangi, namely the Chief of Police of Banyuwangi Kombespol Rama Samtama Putra and Danlanal Banyuwangi Lieutenant Colonel (P) Hafidz. Also followed by Acting Regional Secretary of Banyuwangi Guntur Priambodo, Chairman of KPU Banyuwangi Dian Purnawan, and Chairman of Bawaslu Banyuwangi Adrianus Yanses Pale.
It was carried out at three polling stations (TPS), namely TPS 06 Kertosari Village and TPS 01 Boyolangu Village located in Banyuwangi Subdistrict, as well as at TPS 04 Kemiren Village in Glagah Subdistrict.
“Together with Forpimda, KPU, and Bawaslu, we want to ensure that the regional elections in Banyuwangi run safely and the atmosphere is conducive. So that people can channel their aspirations well and smoothly,” said Acting Secretary Guntur Priambodo when visiting TPS 06 Kertosari Village on Wednesday (27/11/2024).
Based on the monitoring, the 2024 regional elections were reported to be running smoothly. The community also welcomed this political celebration with enthusiasm. For example, TPS 06 Kertosari, Banyuwangi District, which was decorated with Gandrung ornaments.
Even a number of officers wore the costumes of Gandrung dancers and Gandrung gamelan music players.
“This is an event to welcome the new leader of Banyuwangi. We are very enthusiastic about preparing this TPS,” said Hendro, one of the residents around TPS 06 Kertosari.
On this occasion, Guntur hoped that all Banyuwangi people could channel their voting rights properly, by coming to the polling station according to what is stated on the voting paper provided by the KPU.
“Until 10 am this morning, the number of voters who came to TPS 06 Kertosari was observed to be above 60 per cent. We hope that this election can be attended by the people of Banyuwangi with participation above 80 per cent,” said Guntur.
“Hopefully, this election will produce leaders who are in accordance with the choices of the community and are trustworthy,” he concluded.
