JAKARTA – Indonesian President Joko Widodo has appointed Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas as Ad Interim Minister of Law and Human Rights.
This appointment is to temporarily replace Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly who is on a business trip abroad.
The appointment was mentioned in the Minister of State Secretary Letter Number B-20/M/D-3/AN.00.03/12/2023 dated 7 December 2023 addressed to the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform.
The letter contains the appointment of an Ad Interim Minister of Law and Human Rights.
“With regard to Letter of Minister of Law and Human Rights Number M.HH-UM.03.07-212 dated 22 November 2023, addressed to the President, regarding Application for Permission to Travel Overseas, we respectfully inform you that the President is pleased to appoint Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform as Ad Interim Minister of Law and Human Rights,” the letter reads.
The appointment of the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform as Ad Interim Minister of Law and Human Rights takes place while Minister of Law and Human Rights Yasonna H. Laoly is traveling abroad.
Minister Yasonna is said to be on state duty abroad from 14 to 20 December 2023.
