LAMPUNG – The Deputy Chairman of Committee II of The House of Regional Representative of the Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI) Bustami Zainudin said strengthening human resources is the main capital for accelerating development in Lampung.
He conveyed this in a discussion on accelerating development held in Lampung Province, Tuesday (7/3).
Bustami said that Lampung actually has great potential to grow if its stakeholders want to work together.
Moreover, Lampung has 20 representatives in the DPR RI, 4 senators in the DPD RI, as well as two ministers–BUMN Minister Erick Thohir and Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan.
“Lampung has a lot of great potential, but the great people are still moving on their own so the results are not optimal. Hence, it is important to trigger the movement of all parties to develop Lampung together,” said Bustami.
Responding to this, the Head of the Lampung Provincial Bappeda, Mulyadi Irsan, said regarding the acceleration of development, that his party was preparing the 2025-2045 RPJP.
“The most important thing is that the use of village funds is intended not only for infrastructure development, but also for strengthening human resources. I think we are in line with what Mr. Bustami said. Currently, Lampung Governor Arinal Djunaidi is working on tourism potential with Harbor City, so that strengthening the economy does not only come from agriculture. All aspects must be played on a community basis,” he said.
Furthermore, in order to make this happen, synergy with the central, provincial and city districts governments, DPRD, industry, and also from the press is needed.
“So everything is inclusive–the old one is exclusive. Now, in the future, inclusive development is in the context of making the people of Lampung victorious,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Journalists Association (PWI) Lampung Wirahadikusumah said that when talking about accelerating development, one cannot ignore its pillars, such as tourism and others.
“Lampung Province has very good tourism potential, but it has not been optimized, maybe it is still focused on the agricultural and plantation sectors,” he said.
On the other hand, Wirahadikusumah also appealed to the media not to make partial justifications for the works of the government. However, the government must also involve the media to be at the forefront and not neglect its role.
“I often invite friends to have a role in creating accelerated development. This way, when there are ten government programs, and when seven of them are successful while the other three are less successful, then don’t just focus on seeing the flaws of these three programs,” he explained.
