JAKARTA – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas emphasized the role of the Association of State Administrative Scientists (AsIAN) to support impactful bureaucratic reform and management of the state civil apparatus (ASN).
“Associations should not add new business processes and piles of paper, nor make it difficult for ASN,” said Minister Anas as the keynote speaker at the AsIAN National Seminar at the Polytechnic School of Administrative Sciences (STIA) of the State Administration Institute (LAN), Jakarta, Tuesday (16/7).
He explained that state administration is an important pillar in effective, efficient, and accountable governance.
The presence of AsIAN is able to provide many benefits to the country, not only as a forum for developing state administration knowledge, but also to contribute significantly to nation building.
Anas said he hopes that the association will provide support for the positive cycle of ASN management.
There are seven paradigms in it, namely quality ASN recruitment, professional bureaucracy, quality services, increased investment, employment, decreased unemployment, and bureaucratic reform.
“This association can encourage what the PANRB Ministry is striving for,” he added.
The challenges faced by ASN in the digital era and globalization require innovation and policies that are adaptive and responsive to the dynamics that occur.
AsIAN can contribute to providing scientific-based studies, research, and policy recommendations related to bureaucratic reform.
In the event themed Bureaucratic Transformation Towards Golden Indonesia 2024, there was also an inauguration of the AsIAN board for the 2024-2028 service period.
Acting Head of LAN Muhammad Taufiq conveyed the direction of AsIAN’s discussion on the concept of state administration in Indonesia in the future.
The association’s presence will have an impact on recommendations for bureaucratic models, leadership, public services, and others. However, scientific dialogue and scientific policies without practice will not be beneficial to society.
Therefore, discussions from AsIAN administrators and members will contribute knowledge to the PANRB Ministry’s policies, namely in spurring digital transformation and bureaucratic models that shift to new directions.
“The existing discussions can oversee the scientific impact of digital transformation and bureaucratic reform,” he concluded.
