SINGAPORE – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas encourages the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore to implement impactful bureaucracy by carrying out digital transformation.

The Embassy is a government unit that serves services to Indonesian people abroad, in this case in Singapore.

“We encourage the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore to be able to improve the integration of various services to make it easier for Indonesian and foreign citizens to get services. This service integration can be done by carrying out digital transformation,” explained Minister Anas during Sapa ASN at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, Thursday (11/7).

He said that by carrying out digital transformation and service integration, the benefits will be directly felt by Indonesian citizens in Singapore.

For this reason, he invited ASNs working at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore to be able to adopt service integration and digitalisation so that the services provided are in line with public expectations.

Carrying out digital transformation, said Minister Anas, is not just about changing services from offline to online.

With digital transformation, bureaucrats will be able to work faster in running an impactful bureaucracy.

However, digitalisation without changing business processes will only create new problems.

“For this reason, it is necessary to change the paradigm in running the bureaucracy as an engine of change. Programmes run by the government must be based on the needs of the community, the government must be open to criticism and input, and involve participation and collaboration with the community,” he continued.

On this occasion, Minister Anas also had the opportunity to watch the services provided by the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. He was accompanied by Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Suryo Pratomo and Deputy Chief Representative Sulistijo Djati Ismojo.

“I am pleased to see some of the services at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore. In addition to the facilities that have been well prepared, it turns out that the digital service is also running. Hopefully, the discussion between the Ministry of PANRB and the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore today can lead to an improvement in services to be much better,” he concluded.

Meanwhile, Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore Surya Pratomo said that the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore continues to strive for transformation in order to implement an impactful bureaucracy. ASNs at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore continue to move to provide fast service.

“ASNs at the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore continue to improve so that they can keep agile in serving and providing protection for Indonesian citizens in Singapore so that the embassy can run an impactful bureaucracy,” he said.

“We are ready to support the transformation programme run by the Ministry of PANRB to realize digital government in providing services to the community,” he concluded.
