JAKARTA – Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto appointed Rini Widyantini as Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB). Throughout history, Rini is the first woman to be entrusted with leading bureaucratic reform.
Rini’s name was announced by President Prabowo at the Presidential Palace on Sunday (20/10) evening before being inaugurated at the State Palace, Jakarta, Monday (21/20). Before being appointed as Minister of PANRB to replace Abdullah Azwar Anas, Rini served as Secretary of the Ministry of PANRB from 2022.
Born in Bandung, 29 May 1965, Rini started her career as a state civil apparatus (ASN) in 1990. She served as a policy analyst in 1997 at the Ministry of Administrative Reform.
In 2008, Rini served as Assistant Deputy for Economic Institutions at the Ministry of PANRB. Then, in 2009, she took up the position of Assistant Deputy for Economic Institutions I. Her career at the Ministry of PANRB was brilliant. In 2011, Rini was appointed as Expert Staff to the Minister of PANRB for Legal Affairs.
One year later, Rini was appointed as Deputy for Institutionalisation. Then, from 2013 to 2021, Rini held the mandate as Deputy for Institutional and Management at the Ministry of PANRB.
Rini received her primary to higher education in her hometown, Bandung. The Santa Angela High School alumna continued her law studies at Padjadjaran University. Furthermore, Rini earned a Master of Public Management degree at The Flinders University of South Australia.
The career that she started from within the Ministry of PANRB makes Rini have qualified skills and experience in fixing the bureaucracy. She has overcome various dynamics and challenges.
Now, the big task as Minister of PANRB is waiting. Namely governance reforms related to the sustainability of digitalisation of government and public services, institutional strengthening and synergy between bureaucratic institutions through integrated business processes, improving the professionalism and welfare of ASN and creating a more serving ASN work culture.
Rini, who started her career as a bureaucrat, was eventually trusted as the number one person at the Ministry of PANRB.
