BANYUWANGI – Alas Purwo National Park (TNAP) Hall issued a new policy related to visits for religious purposes. Hindus who will conduct worship activities at Luhur Giri Salaka Temple located in the Alas Purwo National Park area will not be charged a visitor’s entrance ticket or can enter the area for free.
This was conveyed by the Head of Alas Purwo National Park Agus Setyabudi after holding a coordination meeting with the Assistant Government of Banyuwangi Regional Secretariat MY. Bramuda and his staff at the Banyuwangi Regency Office, Thursday (21/11/2024).
Agus said that the implementation of the IDR 0,00 tariff or no visitor admission for religious purposes is possible by referring to the Regulation of the Minister of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia Number: P.38/Menhut-II/2014 concerning Procedures and Requirements for Certain Activities Imposition of IDR 0,00 (Zero Rupiah) Tariffs in Natural Reserve Areas, Nature Conservation Areas, Hunting Parks, and Natural Forests.
“Based on the Minister’s regulation, worship/religious activities can be subject to a tariff of IDR 0,00 (zero rupiah). Therefore, the IDR 0,00 (zero rupiah) tariff can be applied to Hindus who will carry out prayer activities at Pura Luhur Giri Salaka,” he explained.
This provision, Agus continued, can be made after Hindus who will conduct religious activities in TNAP get a Conservation Area Entry Permit (SIMAKSI). Application for permission to enter the area can be made with the person in charge of the local community or the community around the area (the manager of Luhur Giri Salaka Temple).
He explained that SIMAKSI for Hindus who will worship at the temple can be obtained by filling out a religious activity application form at the TNAP entrance counter.
“We have provided the form. Those who come will just have to fill it in,” he said.

The implementation of the IDR 0,00 tariff for visitor entrance tickets, Agus continued, only applies to worship activities that take place at Pura Luhur Giri Salaka. Meanwhile, vehicles used are still subject to vehicle entrance tickets in accordance with applicable regulations.
“We will start socializing and testing it tomorrow (today -ed), Friday 22 November 2024. This zero rupiah tariff policy is only for worship activities, and if you carry out worship activities outside Luhur Giri Salaka Temple, including tourism activities, you will be charged a visitor entrance ticket in accordance with applicable regulations,” he said.
Agus also revealed that the increase in tariffs to enter Alas Purwo National Park is based on the Government Regulation Number 36 of 2024 concerning Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) Tariffs which will come into effect on 30 October 2024. Based on this regulation, there is a change in nomenclature from Rayon to Class.
“Regarding the entrance ticket for visitors to the park based on class, while waiting for the class determination by the Minister of Forestry, based on the policy of the Directorate General of KSDAE (Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems), Alas Purwo National Park is included in class II,” he explained.
“The consequence of the enactment of this regulation is an increase in the TNAP entrance fee. From the original IDR5,000 on weekdays to IDR 20,000. On holidays, from IDR 7,000 to IDR 30,000,” he added.
Meanwhile, Government Assistant MY. Bramuda welcomed the IDR 0,00 tariff policy for worship activities at Pura Luhur Giri Salaka in Alas Purwo National Park.
“We are grateful for the attention of the central government and the TNAP Hall. We will help in socializing this policy,” said Bramuda.
