Makassar is Ready to Host 2023 National Working Meeting of Indonesian City Government Associations

MAKASSAR – Makassar City, which is led by Mayor Danny Pomanto, is ready to host the 2023 National Working Meeting (Rakernas) for the Association of Indonesian City Governments (APEKSI).

The five-day long event will be filled with various activities which, apart from being a meeting place for leaders of cities in Indonesia, will also introduce the city of Makassar to the guests.

Among them are the Indonesia City Expo, the sailing of the Phinisi ship, carnivals and cultural parades, tree planting, and special event for women only.

“The city of Makassar and all the people of Makassar City are ready to welcome the arrival of special guests from cities in Indonesia, members of @APEKSIid,” wrote Danny in a post on his Instagram.

“To stay in touch, have dialogue, discuss, make joint programs, provide recommendations to the government, show potential, progress of the city, art and culture, get investments for development and welfare of its citizens in a family atmosphere while enjoying the City of Makassar and the culinary delights of the City of Delicious Food,” he continued.

Carrying the theme “Our Cities Go Forward, Our Nation Indonesia is Strong”, this work meeting is the 16th event held by APEKSI.

The series this time began with the Youth City Changers Camp in Tokka Tena Rata, Maros, on Monday (10/7) afternoon local time.

The Youth City Changers Camp will continue until Tuesday (11/7) afternoon as the opening act of the 2023 APEKSI National Working Meeting, while a gala dinner will welcome the guests at the beautiful Losari Beach in the evening.

Entering the third day, Wednesday (12/7), is the core activity of the national meeting which will be opened by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the implementation of the Indonesia City Expo.

The phinisi boat cruise as well as the carnival and cultural parade will also be carried out on the same day.

Furthermore, on Thursday (13/7), the guests could participate in leisure bikes and tree planting activities before participating in the second day of the main activities of the National Working Meeting.

In the afternoon, the beauty of tourist alleys and the delicious culinary delights of Makassar City will be ready to welcome the participants in a city and culinary tour – which will be continued with the Ladies Program at the historic Fort Rotterdam.

On the last day, Friday (14/7), the APEKSI 2023 National Working Meeting series will be closed with the Makassar Investment Forum 2023, Indonesia City Expo, and an investment dinner.
