THE EDITOR – The South Sulawesi Provincial Government has chosen the Makassar City Women’s Empowerment and Welfare Alley (Lorong PKK) formed by Makassar Mayor Danny Pomanto to be a provincial pilot project.
This was revealed when Acting Chairperson of the TP PKK South Sulawesi Province Ninuk Triyanti Zudan met Acting Head of TP PKK Makassar City Andi Tenri Anna.
At the location, it was discovered that the 45 special PKK alleys were specifically made by Makassar Mayor Danny Pomanto.
The area examined by the South Sulawesi Provincial Government is Lorong PKK Mangasa, located in Mangasa Village, Makassar.
It is considered to have advantages as it has succeeded in encouraging economic empowerment and community health despite being in a densely populated area.
WHAT IS IN THIS ALLEY?
1. Women Farmers Group (KWT)
The KWT Lorong PKK Mangasa grows a variety of vegetables to meet the needs of its members such as chillies, water spinach, pakcoy, and so on.
2. Rainbow Gallery
The Rainbow Gallery features a variety of creative products made by residents, such as handicrafts and household products. This gallery is clear evidence that the creative economy programme promoted by TP PKK is able to drive the economy at the community level.
3. Posyandu
Posyandu services in this alley routinely provide maternal and child health services for the residents. It is part of an effort to maintain public health, especially in densely populated areas such as Lorong PKK Mangasa.
