Focus on Restoring the Economy, Makassar F8 Provides 150 Special Booths for MSME

MAKASSAR – PT Festival Delapan has prepared space for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) at the Makassar International Eight Festival and Forum (Makassar F8).

As much as 150 booths have been prepared for MSMEs use for five consecutive days, from August 23rd to 27th 2023.

Director of PT Festival Delapan, Wawan Setyawan, said all these 150 booths will be used by product and culinary MSMEs.

It is done in the same way like the Makassar F8 held in previous years, with the aim of having a positive impact on MSMEs.

Moreover, this is in accordance with the central government’s instructions to do something so that economic conditions gradually improve.

“We always see that the Makassar F8 has extraordinary potential. It gives a good impact. MSMEs must always be present at every event. The economic turnaround in five days will be enormous, especially for the time after a pandemic like this,” he said.

Wawan said, reflecting on the previous Makassar F8, MSMEs contributed to the amount of transactions during the event which was included in the Top 10 of the Wonderful Indonesia National Event Calendar.

“Last year, our transaction reached IDR 34 billion. We target this year to increase to IDR 50 billion. The enthusiasm is extraordinary,” Wawan said.

Apart from MSMEs, the occupancy in the hotel sector is also targeted to increase, stated the Chairman of the PHRI of South Sulawesi, Anggiat Sinaga.

He said, in big events like Makassar F8, hotel occupancy usually increase by up to 20 percent.

“Makassar has had many big events recently, such as MNEK, APEKSI National Working Meeting. It is extraordinary that the increase in hotel and restaurant occupancy has skyrocketed,” he explained.

He also hopes that Makassar will always hold big events. These events cannot be separated from the performance of the Makassar City Government which always succeeds in attracting guests to feel at home in Makassar City.

“I hope that the leaders of Makassar in the future can be equal in thoughts and creative ideas with Mr. Danny Pomanto, so this city can always hold events in order to increase economic growth,” he concluded.
