JAKARTA – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas emphasized that the unqualified opinion (WTP) given by the Audit Board (BPK) on government financial statements is not an achievement but an obligation.

This is in accordance with the President’s directive delivered at the submission of the Audit Report (LHP) on Central Government Financial Statements (LKPP) in 2023 and the Overview of Semester II Audit Results (IHPS II) in 2023 in Jakarta, Monday (8/7).

“The President today gave direction that accountability should be prioritized and WTP is not an achievement but an obligation,” he said.

Minister Anas said that digital transformation can be one of the ways used in order to support increased accountability in budget use. Digital transformation will support integrated services and simplify governance.

“In this context, integrated bureaucratic digitalisation is important in order to support governance and accountability,” he said.

On that occasion, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) also asked his staff to continue structural reforms, synchronize regulations, and simplify procedures so that the government runs more effectively, efficiently, and result-oriented.

He also expected BPK and all government agencies to use and spend the APBN and APBD responsibly.

“This is public money, state money, we must realize that every year it must be audited, it must be examined. So, it is an obligation to use, run, and be accountable for the APBN and APBD properly,” said Jokowi.

At the same time, BPK Chairman Isma Yatun emphasized that the BPK’s audit is inclusive and high quality. This is a strong capital in the development journey towards the Golden Indonesia 2045.

She also said that the results of BPK’s examination of LKPP in 2023 showed a WTP. This achievement is the eighth WTP since the 2016 LKPP.

“The unqualified opinion as a reflection of the best quality in accountability for the implementation of the State Budget through the presentation of LKPP in accordance with Government Accounting Standards will further encourage multi-stakeholder trust in the public sector,” she said.
