Attending Korpri’s Anniversary, Minister Anas: Digitalization in Government Services is a Necessity

JAKARTA – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas explain that the government bureaucracy must be agile and fast. 

Because currently people’s expectations for government services are increasing. Therefore, digitalization is the only one way to face the rapid changes that are currently occurring.

“ASN as an engine in bureaucracy must be able to solve existing problems with the most updated approach. We must not solve current problems with the approaches of the past. Digitalization in government services is a necessity,” he said at the Commemoration of the 52nd Anniversary of the Indonesian Civil Servants Corps (Korpri) at the Jakarta International Velodrome, Jakarta, Wednesday (29/11).

Currently, He continue, people expect more from government because develops of technology and the change of society expectation.

Korpri is expected to be able to answer today’s challenges by strengthening digital competence and digital culture in all ASN, as well as forming integrated government digital services that prioritize community needs.

Addressing ASN as a machine, Anas wants the bureaucracy in Indonesia always be in top condition. So it can move the system according to the destination. 

Likewise with government performance, whether good or bad is determined by the quality and capacity of the bureaucracy which also depends on the performance of ASN.

“To ensure prime conditions, a good ecosystem is needed, starting from aspects of ideology, work culture, performance management, to welfare. In the future, Korpri must continue to be a lever for bureaucratic performance so that various development programs can be implemented and have a positive impact on society,” he explained.

At the event, Anas also asked ASN as Korpri members to uphold neutrality in facing the current election period.

“Korpri is a forum to unites the nation. As a family, Korpri must also protect its members from intolerance and radicalism,” stressed Anas.

Chairman of the Korpri National Management Board Zudan Arif Fakrulloh agreed with Anas’ opinion.

According to him, maintaining neutrality is what ASN must do to maintain the peace and integrity of the Republic of Indonesia.

Not only that, at Korpri’s 52nd year, Zudan hopes that Korpri can continue to encourage the quality of public services and digitalization of the bureaucracy. 

“Currently there are 34 provinces and 412 districts have used digital system.

“Currently, 34 provinces have moved to digital and 412 districts/cities have moved towards digitalization. Hopefully next year together we can encourage all government administrators to leave wet signatures and stamps, so we can continue to provide public services faster and better,” he concluded.
