Advancing Artificial Fuel Technology Through Plasmalysis Process (GSF)

Must read

THE EDITOR – PT Teknologi Alam Semesta and PT Seagas Karya Indonesia (SKI) show their commitment to technology development through Green Synthesis Fuel (GSF).

Both companies have been directly involved in the technology development and industrial and commercial advancement of GSF since its inception.

GSF development is fully supported by the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), which has provided recommendations on GSF utilisation for various industrial sectors.

BRIN also provides access to state-of-the-art, high-precision laboratory facilities for GSF assessment and ensures comprehensive, complete, and reliable test data and information. The validity of the data is on par with other fuel technical observation and validation methods.

Previously, GSF has gone through a testing phase on a large-scale diesel generating engine. In the trial, it was used as an additive mixed with Regas LNG.

The results showed that the combination of GSF and Regas LNG was able to produce electrical energy efficiently, while saving the plant’s fuel costs through reduced LNG consumption. In addition, the use of GSF also reduced carbon emissions from the power plant’s chimney.

GSF is an artificial fuel produced through plasmalysis process technology, with seawater as the main raw material. The GSF production unit is designed to be modular, with enough capacity to supply power generation needs of up to 5,000 KW.

This innovation provides a solution for the industry while opening up opportunities for remote islands in Indonesia to gain access to environmentally friendly alternative fuels.

“The development of GSF brings great benefits, not only to the industrial sector, but also as a strategic step in the national Energy Transition Programme. The potential of GSF as a new energy option and is expected to support cost efficiency, energy diversification, as well as a significant reduction in carbon emissions,” said Eden Napitupulu, one of the leaders of GSF.

With the benefits it offers, GSF is an important breakthrough in creating the future of a greener, more sustainable and inclusive energy for Indonesia,” He add.
