“There are four areas that are the main focus of the thematic BR, namely poverty alleviation, increasing investment, digitizing government administration, and accelerating the president’s actual priorities,” said Anas.

The four thematic BR areas will be supported by government digitalization through the Electronic Based Government System (EBGS), which will also encourage public services to become more effective.

“Thematic bureaucratic reform is supported by government digitalization. The thematic approach to government digitalization includes transformation in three main pillars: digital structure, digital culture, and digital competence,” he added.

According to him, the work of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo in bringing investment to Indonesia is in accordance with the focus of thematic bureaucratic reform (BR).

Meanwhile, Ambassador Heri welcomed Minister Anas’ arrival. He hopes that the direction from the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform can spur the performance of ASN at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo.

“Human resource management, especially ASN, is very important to increase our nation’s competitiveness. We hope that the presence of the minister can have an impact on us, especially boosting our performance,” said Heri.

Apart from that, to ensure public services are available to the community, Minister Anas also checked services at the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo.

“I appreciate the performance and commitment of the Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo staff who have worked hard in providing excellent service for Indonesian citizens, maintaining good relations between countries, promoting culture and trade, thereby strengthening ties between Indonesia and Japan,” said Anas.

The Indonesian Embassy in Tokyo is known to have several innovations, namely first, the Jaipong Dashboard (Japan-Indonesia Partnership Lounge) which is an economic diplomacy innovation.
