JAKARTA – Minister of Home Affairs Muhammad Tito Karnavian has announced the winners of the 2023 Village and Administrative Village Competition (Lomdeskel) Regional Level.
Tito guarantees that the process of determining the winners takes place objectively and honestly.
The winning criteria are assessed by academics, representatives of relevant ministries, and institutions.
“The winners are purely, objectively chosen,” said Tito in his speech at the National Work Meeting at the Discovery Hotel, Ancol a while ago.
Through Lomdeskel, he hopes that there will be more and more developing and developed villages to prevent excessive urbanization.
According to Tito, big cities in many countries such as Tokyo, Kyoto, and Osaka in Japan are becoming the centers of urbanization because many rural people have moved to these big cities.
He doesn’t want that situation to be experienced by villages in Indonesia.
“As a result, their villages are empty. The people were told to buy a house there, but it has no neighbors,” he said.
“Before that happens, we need to develop villages and administrative villages, so that people can live comfortably in the village, close to nature, but enjoy the salary of the city,” he continued.
At the same time, the Director General (Dirjen) of Village Government Development (Bina Pemdes) of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Eko Prasetyanto Purnomo Putro, said that the award ceremony was a form of appreciation for regional heads who had succeeded in developing their villages and sub-districts.
“It is hoped that this activity will be able to build a spirit of competition and collaboration between villages and administrative villages in each region and encourage innovation in improving the quality of service to village or administrative villages communities,” Eko said. (NEWS ADVERTORIAL)
