MAKASSAR – F8 Makassar has been held for six consecutive years. And in every implementation every year, this event always provides a lively presentation.
The 2023 F8 Makassar is no exception. There are many collaboration ideas that make this multi-festival agenda even more interesting.
Therefore, Makassar Mayor Moh. Ramdhan “Danny” Pomanto mentions with pride that the F8 Makassar is a globally known local idea.
“F8 Makassar today is not just a routine tourism agenda. F8 is not just a show, but F8 is a local idea that has gone global,” said Danny in front of all the guests who attended the Opening Ceremony of The 2023 F8 Makassar, at the City Of Makassar Pavilion, Wednesday (23/8).
“70 percent of those participating in this event are young people. Their support has built the success of this activity. Starting from the smallest MSMEs to large private companies enliven the F8 Makassar.
“This proves that the presence of The 2023 F8 Makassar is good for everyone,” he continued.
Danny also called F8 Makassar as a proof of the progress of civilization that forms a cultural gathering space not only in Indonesia, but also Asia and the world.
With the theme “Next Gen”, The 2023 F8 Makassar targets transactions during the five days of the event to reach up to IDR 50 billion.
The target was made by considering the eight creative economy sub-sectors presented, starting from food and fruit, fashion, fiction writers, fine art, fusion music, film, folk, and flora and fauna.
“This time, we have fashion designers from 5 countries in Asia collaborating with our local designers in Makassar,” said Danny.
“This proves the local quality of our culture which is also able to show its creativity,” he added.
He also hopes that F8 Makassar can present the culture, not only Indonesian and Asian culture, but the world culture that originates from the Makassar stage.
