BANYUMAS – The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, dreams about having a database of athletes from his region because the current database of outstanding athletes, including the retired ones, is not enough.
The issue was conveyed by him in the middle of inauguration ceremony of the management of KONI Central Java that was held virtually, from Purwokerto, Tuesday (8/3).
The database, according to him, could be the reference to actualize the dream of taking good care of the athletes’ welfare.
“We are sometimes sad and even shed a tear. For example, a friend of mine yesterday told me that there is an athlete in Central Java who leads a hard life. I asked the Dispopar to look for him and Alhamdulillah (praise be to God) he was then found. We helped him because he was also the one who made Central Java and maybe even Indonesia proud,” said Ganjar.
And for the young and active athletes, he dreams to give an assurance of a better future.
“We put them into the database, who achieve medals and make Central Java and Indonesia proud, so that their old times could be the medals they achieved in the recent time. Don’t make it hard for them, don’t let them be ngenes,” he continued strictly.
Ganjar also dreams to actualize good governance in the sports field in Central Java. So there will be no more news about no-transparent management nor abuse in it.
“So we once communicated that KONI Central Java to be the inspirator of all KONIs throughout Indonesia. How we coordinate, also supervise and prevent corruption done by KONI along with KPK,” said the governor.
He wishes the dreams to come true in this new appointed management so that it could give a good influence to the achievement of the Central Java’s athletes.
“But in some major events, it’s still hard for us entering the top ranks, especially to get the general champion. Except in some competitions for the disability athletes a while ago, we were able to achieve more than we expected. It needs to be trained,” he said.
For a mere information, on this occasion, the new management of KONI was appointed directly by the General Chairman of Central KONI, Marciano Norman.
There were only eight people who were directly appointed, they are Chairman of Bona Ventura Sulistiana, Vice Chairman I Bambang Raharjo, Chairman II Soedjatmiko, Chairman III Harry Nuryanto, Chairman IV Amir Machmud NS, Chairman V Sudarsono, General Secretary Achmad Ris Ediyanto and General Treasurer Prasetyo Budie Yuwono.
