MAKASSAR – The Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) of Makassar City on Tuesday (24/10) carried out control over billboards on several protocol roads in Makassar City.
The agency revealed that the reason for controlling billboards is because it is alleged that there are a lot of billboards appearing in and without permits in the city.
There are also several billboards, including banner advertisements, that violate the regulation on protocol roads and green open areas in Makassar City.
Head of Bapenda Makassar, Firman Pagarra, explained that this control is a routine activity as part of efforts to maintain the aesthetics of the city and curb the installation of inappropriate billboards in its corridors.
“There are around 500 billboard control points in all sub-districts and on all protocol roads in Makassar City today. There are around 100 joint personnel–Bapenda, sub-districts, and Satpol PP involved in this control,” said Firman.
The former Head of the DPM PTSP Makassar City Government also emphasized that efforts to control billboards are part of education and part of efforts to increase Makassar City’s PAD.
