JAKARTA – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas supports the strengthening of bureaucratic reform within the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
It was conveyed by Minister Anas after meeting with Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs Teten Masduki at the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Office, Friday (24/11).
“Today, Mr. Teten and I discussed a lot about the transformation in the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs. Mr. Teten is very progressive in encouraging the implementation of thematic bureaucratic reforms in the scope of cooperatives and SMEs,” he said.
Thematic bureaucratic reforms, Anas continued, are oriented towards a number of concrete impacts for the community, namely poverty alleviation, increased investment, increased spending on domestic products, and digitalisation.
“Thematic bureaucratic reforms ensure that bureaucratic work has an impact, not trapped in administrative reports. Mr. Teten’s scope of work is very much related to this,” he continued.
Minister Anas also said that the Ministry of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises SMEs’ work area is huge, as it covers tens of millions of cooperatives and SMEs.
Therefore, he supports the work of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs in carrying out massive bureaucratic transformation in order to have a real impact on society through strengthening cooperatives, micro, small and medium enterprises and entrepreneurship.
To encourage this implementation, he continued, it also needs to be supported by the transformation of human resources, especially digital talents, which will support the acceleration of the digital economy.
In addition, to oversee the large number of existing cooperatives, it is necessary to strengthen the supervision of qualified cooperatives.
“Transformation in the human resources sector of the apparatus requires digital talents to support the implementation of today’s increasingly massive digital economy in order to produce real impact on society,” said Minister Anas.
“I appreciate the hard work of the Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs who has provided indicators, including the increasing value of SAKIP and Bureaucratic Reform. Hopefully, Mr. Teten’s performance can continue to encourage improvements in governance related to the Ministry’s managerial functions,” he added.
On the occasion, Minister Teten Masduki said that the meeting with Minister Anas discussed the grand strategy of bureaucratic reform.
This is sought to have an impact on change, especially in services to the community in accordance with the duties and functions of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.
“We want the bureaucratic reform carried out by the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to have an impact on society. Especially in the two things that we are focusing on right now, namely co-operative supervision and the digital economy,” said Teten.
Cooperatives need competent human resources to conduct supervision as it has tremendous economic impact, so it is necessary to strengthen supervision from the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.
So far, the cooperative supervision process is still running internally from each cooperative.
Regarding the digital economy, this is closely related to EBGS and digital talent.
Teten said digital talents in the scope of cooperatives and SMEs drive the digital economy and this requires professionals to be able to strengthen the digital economy ecosystem in Indonesia.
“Thank you to the Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform and his staff who continue to encourage the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to have an impact on the wider community, especially in strengthening the digital economy. Of course, we will follow up on the directives to improve bureaucratic reforms in the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs,” Teten concluded.
