Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform and Supreme Court Prepare Judge Candidate Formation for ASN Recruitment in 2024

JAKARTA – The government plans to hold a recruitment programme for state civil apparatus candidates (CASN) in 2024.

And judicial candidates are one of the needs that will be met in 2024.

“So, after there has been no large-scale formation of judicial candidates in a long time, this has become a consideration of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform to provide it in 2024. Because the shortage is quite a lot,” said Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas in Jakarta, Thursday (14/12).

Anas said that the procurement of judicial candidates was carried out to fill the need for judges from civil servants (PNS).

The procurement of judges is selected from judicial judges who come from Judicial Analysts who have been appointed as civil servants from the determination of CPNS needs and meet the qualifications as prospective judges within the Supreme Court.

The procurement of judges is carried out in the same way as the procurement of CASN in general, from planning needs to appointment as a judge.

“However, to become a judge, a competency test must be conducted again by the Supreme Court,” Anas explained.

Based on data from the Supreme Court, a number of human resources are needed to fill the needs of a number of new court work units within the Supreme Court.

The need reaches tens of thousands, consisting of judges (general court judges, religious court judges, and state administrative court judges) and ASN consisting of civil servants and PPPK.

Regarding the procurement of ASN in 2024, Anas revealed that the fulfillment of ASN in 2024 is prioritized on fulfilling ASN needs in basic services, namely teachers and health workers.

Furthermore, it focuses on resolving the issue of non-ASN personnel in government agencies as mandated by Law No. 20/2023 on ASN.

The next policy direction, in 2024, will also continue to recruit new talents or fresh graduates through CPNS selection.

The policy in 2024 is expected to reduce as much as possible the positions that will be affected by digital transformation.

“ASN recruitment is expected to prioritize digital talents. The direction of ASN recruitment of Digital Talents is to focus on creating economic added value,” Anas concluded.
