BANYUWANGI – The legal product information system implemented by Banyuwangi Regency is once again the best in Indonesia.

For the fourth time since 2020, Banyuwangi wins first place in the National Legal Documentation and Information Network (JDIHN) Awards held by the Ministry of Law and Human Rights.

Banyuwangi is named the first best national member of JDIHN 2023 at district level.

“Alhamdulillah, we were able to maintain the title of Best National JDIHN for four consecutive years. This is both an honor and a challenge,” said Banyuwangi Regent Ipuk Fiestiandani, Friday (13/10).

“Hopefully, we can continue to provide the best service to the public in the future, including services related to legal product information,” she continued.

The JDIHN Award is an award for regions that are deemed capable of providing information on legal products issued by the region to the public online, so that the public can easily access this information.

The award was handed over by the Minister of Law and Human Rights, Yasonna Laoly, to the Assistant for Government and People’s Welfare for Banyuwangi Regency, Arief Setyawan, in Jakarta, Thursday (12/10).

Arief explained that this award was achieved because of the various innovations launched by JDIH Banyuwangi. For example, Banyuwangi has a Community Participation Application System (Simplirakat).

The application provides space for people to publish their written works in the legal field. Both in the form of opinions, news, articles, and legal research.

“Usually the delivery of legal product information only goes in one direction, from JDIH to the public. But, in Banyuwangi, we have one that goes both ways,” said Arief.

“Through this innovation, people are not only recipients of information, they can also be transmitters of information through their work. They can convey their aspirations, suggestions, and criticism of existing legal products,” he added.

There is also the innovation of Public E-consultation on Regional Legal Products, namely a special space provided for the public to channel their criticism, suggestions and aspirations regarding all regional legal products.

There is also a Jiwa Raga program (JDIH Banyuwangi Giat Mengajar Regulasi–JDIH Banyuwangi Actively Teaching Regulations). This innovation provides education directly to the public (offline/online) regarding strategic issues that are currently developing in society.

“Aside from being a teaching material, this innovation is also a medium for socializing all regional policies. So that the public can find out what programs are currently being carried out and will be carried out by the regional government,” said Arief.

Banyuwangi also has a digital legal library which makes it easier for people to access legal product information, creating JDIH corners in villages, and collaborating with a number of related agencies.

These include the District Court, Banyuwangi Police, and a number of universities.

“Many processes in the implementation of JDIH were considered innovative by the assessment team, which have not been carried out by other regions. For example, collaboration with universities in legal product information services,” said Arief.

Previously, in 2022, Banyuwangi won the Best of the Best JDIHN award. This is a special award that is only given to one work unit with the best performance.

Banyuwangi itself achieved the highest score among 1,662 other JDIHN members throughout Indonesia.
