BANYUWANGI – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform Abdullah Azwar Anas asked that efforts to strengthen the Government Internal Supervisory Apparatus (GISA) must be more optimal and qualitative in accordance with the expectations and demands of the community.
According to him, GISA is an important sector for bureaucratic reform.
“In encouraging bureaucratic machinery, intensive supervision is needed from the beginning of planning to evaluation,” he said when opening the FDSA working meeting in Banyuwangi, Thursday (7/12).
“In terms of internal supervision, the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (FDSA) has a strategic role to keep every government activity program on track,” he continued.
Minister Anas explained that the involvement of internal audit and oversight at the stage of setting organizational goals, strategies, and programs can help ensure that objectives and expected benefits are clearly identified along with objective analysis of development achievements.
Therefore, he continued, the role of FDSA in realizing national bureaucratic reform is very important. It can prevent inefficiencies and inaccuracies in programs and activities.
“The President has stated that bureaucracy is like a machine. It’s just a matter of how the engine is, we shouldn’t use Pertamax all the time. If necessary, use something that is economical but achieves a lot. This is our homework, one of which has your role here, supervising,” he said.
The former Head of the Government Procurement Policy Agency (GPPA) said that synergy and collaboration between stakeholders are important steps to maintain integrity and accountability in government.
Therefore, he advised that FDSA as a trusted advisor and strategic partner in the field of audit can carry out its supervisory role optimally in supporting the acceleration of bureaucratic reform.
“The existing condition of national supervision is important in the future to ensure that this bureaucracy works optimally. Therefore, strengthening GISA is our homework that needs to be done together,” he added.
