Arriving at the BPOM office, Minister Anas toured and observed the call center room and coworking space on the seventh floor of Merah Putih Building.

One to note, BPOM’s complaints and information services are conducted through omni channels. The public can access information and file complaints through Halo BPOM call center 1500533 as well as BPOM social media, email, and SMS.

The authority’s coworking spaces are commonly used for meetings, events, and work spaces for employees.

Minister Anas also made an observation towards BPOM’s public services in the Athena Building.

BPOM serves registration services to obtain distribution permits, standardization related to regulations, and supervision.

It also conducts online services, including for drug registration services; registration of traditional medicines and health supplements; cosmetic notification; processed food registration; import, export, and SAS licensing; approval of clinical and pre-clinical trials; drug advertising licensing; and others.

Before wrapping up the visit, Minister Anas observed the BPOM Command Centre, which is the control center for services at the BPOM.

On that occasion, the former Head of the Government Goods / Services Procurement Policy Agency (LKPP) encouraged the strengthening of digital services at BPOM.

One to note, the achievement of the BPOM Electronic-Based Government System (SPBE) index in 2023 is 4.08 with a very good category.

Minister Anas hopes that BPOM can strengthen better digitalisation along with the simplification of bureaucracy.

“We just hope that there will be efficiency in bureaucratic personnel in the future. Hopefully, as digitalisation progresses, the human resources can be reduced but the target achievement continues to increase,” he said.

Regarding public service innovation, Minister Anas advised BPOM to also play a role in food supervision in the Ibu Kota Nusantara (IKN) in the future .

According to him, there will be a new culture in the occupancy of the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) regarding a healthy lifestyle.

“The role of BPOM is to have an impact. If necessary, it can perform inspection towards foods that are about to enter the Government Centre Core Area (KIPP) in IKN. Which one that is eligible, which one is not. If the sugar content of the food is high, it can prevent it from getting into the area,” he explained.

“Especially in ASN apartments, besides fried foods that are not allowed, maybe the food will be sorted. It’s not for the public, but for ASN,” he continued.

Minister Anas also expressed his appreciation to BPOM for its efforts in accelerating public service innovation.

“BPOM is among those who have received the most approval from KemenPANRB as an institution that replicates quite a lot of innovations. Congratulations! The most important thing is that I hope BPOM continues to play a role in realizing an impactful bureaucracy,” he concluded.
