Chairman of DPD RI Invites People to Supervise Cooking Oil Distribution in East Java

SURABAYA – Chairman of The House of Regional Representative of Republic of Indonesia (DPD RI), AA LaNyalla Mahmud Mattalitti invites the public to participate in supervising the distribution of cooking oil in traditional markets throughout East Java.

According to The Chairman, joint supervision is an important thing to do to avoid fraud.

“Let’s monitor it carefully and report it to the authorities if there are suspicious things,” said LaNyalla amid his recess in East Java, Friday (4/3).

Around 3,500 tons of cooking oil will be distributed to traders in traditional markets in 17 regencies/cities in East Java.

For this reason, LaNyalla asks the public to carry out strict supervision so that there are no cases of abuse of authority and suppress the chance of wrong distribution.

The senator from East Java asked the East Java Provincial Government to ensure there is this synergy between the involved elements, so that cooking oil could reach the rightful hands, such as street vendors, fried food vendors, warteg, caterers, housewives, snacks artisans and others in need.

“I encourage the public to get rid of the habit of fighting over goods and everyone who transacts at the market to not fight over cooking oil. I also remind the public to participate in supervising the distribution of this cooking oil,” recalled The Chairman.

The East Java Provincial Government devoted 3,500 tons of cooking oil intended for traditional market traders in 17 regencies/cities in East Java.

Furthermore, traders are required to sell cooking oil directly to consumers according to the highest retail price (HET) for cooking oil with premium packaging, which is Rp14,000 per litre.

This step is taken in order to help the community meet the needs of cooking oil, while at the same time stabilising the price of the commodity.

The 17 regencies/cities include, the Lentera premium cooking oil is being distributed to Tulungagung, Banyuwangi, Jember, Lumajang, Bondowoso, Jombang, Nganjuk, Bojonegoro, Ngawi, Madiun, Ponorogo and Probolinggo regencies.

Meanwhile, the Rakyat cooking oil will be distributed in Tuban, Kediri, Lamongan, Pacitan and Trenggalek regencies.
