TRENGGALEK – Public Service Mall (MPP) has been opened in Trenggalek Regency, East Java. Served as a digital literacy tool, it was inaugurated by Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas.

Minister Anas emphasized that digital literacy is required in optimizing public services.

“Public Service Mall can also serve as a platform to improve the digital literacy of the community, especially in the delivery of public services,” he said in the inauguration of the MPP which was held together with the Trenggalek Innovation Festival (TIF), Tuesday (20/8).

The MPP provides effective services to the community, enhances economic growth, increases regional investment, and improves cross-sector collaboration. It hosts 80 types of services from 26 government agencies, five State-Owned Enterprises/Region-Owned Enterprises, and also the private sector that can be accessed by the local community.

Minister Anas recounted that in various countries, conventional public services can coexist with digital services. Currently, the Ministry of PANRB is also encouraging local governments to implement MPP Digital.

He also emphasized that future services will be optimized with mobile applications in order to digitally develop the services even though the building area is limited.

“Prioritize the function, not the grandeur of the building. Hopefully Trenggalek will have a Digital MPP in the future,” said Minister Anas.

The existence of both conventional and digital MPPs is a form of implementing bureaucratic reforms that have an impact on society. Bureaucratic reform, according to Minister Anas, must cut complicated business processes and be adaptive to technology.

MPP Digital was built as a form of accelerating the integration of electronic-based public services (e-services) as support for the physical MPP.

“Currently, efforts are being made to implement face recognition in the digital MPP which is sourced from digital population identity data,” he said.

One to note, the MPP of Trenggalek Regency also hosts a number of micro, small, and medium enterprises owned by the community. It also becomes a place that can accommodate community creativity and innovation based on local wisdom values and local community characteristics.

Trenggalek Regent Mochamad Nur Arifin expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the Ministry of PANRB. He said that Minister Anas is a mentor for the development of public service innovation, especially in East Java.

Services at MPP Trenggalek Regency have also utilized the website for information and registration, making it easier for the public to access.

“We hope that all community service needs are sufficient there. There is no more story of people having to go back and forth to administer their business. And of course we will develop it more in the future,” Arifin explained.
