Vice chairman of Indonesian Regional Representative Council (DPD RI) Sultan B Najamuddin admired and praised the speech of Indonesian Defence Minister Prabowo regarding efforts to achieve world peace and global security.
“Pak Prabowo is courageous to reveal the truth of current global escalation in front of world leaders and military envoys of developed countries. As young people, we are fascinated and proud of his extraordinary address,” said Sultan through his official statement on Sunday (2/6).
According to him, Prabowo’s diplomatic statement is a representation of the spirit of peace of Indonesia.
The minister, he said, was upright with his clear views regarding peaceful conflict resolution through a dialogue process.
“I think world leaders need to do the same thing so that the escalation and humanitarian crisis in Gaza and Rafah as well as in other regions will end soon. Only great leaders think and feel responsible for resolving conflicts and humanitarian crises,” said the senator from Bengkulu.
Sultan hopes that Prabowo’s address on peace and wisdom will be a trigger for other world leaders.
He assessed that efforts to realize lasting peace and social justice, which is the philosophical basis of Indonesia’s foreign policy, must be used as a geopolitical paradigm.
“Mr. Prabowo’s patriotism reminds us of the leader of the Indonesian revolution, President Soekarno. Today’s young generation needs the sensation of patriotism and courage of a leader to foster optimism and pride in their leader,” he concluded.
Minister of Defence of Indonesia Prabowo Subianto appeared as a speaker in the Special Address session at the International Institute for Strategic by Studies (IISS) Shangri-La Dialogue 2024 held at the Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, Saturday (1/6).
In his speech, he highlighted a number of strategic global security issues that are of concern to the world today.
“Nationalism must be balanced with humanity. Patriotism must be tempered with wisdom and respect for all citizens of the world. Let us work towards the common good,” he concluded his speech.
