THE EDITOR – Acting Regent of Klungkung I Nyoman Jendrika became a guest speaker at a public lecture at the University of National Education in Denpasar, Monday (28/10/2024). This public lecture carries the theme “Dynamics and Challenges of Smart City”.
On the occasion, Jendrika said that smart city is a programme to realize digital technology-based cities in Klungkung Regency.
The programme aims to improve the efficiency of public services, create regional independence, and improve the quality of life of the residents.
“Klungkung Regency is one of 50 regencies/cities in Indonesia included in the Movement Towards Smart City programme in 2022,” he said in a statement received by The Editor.
In addition, Jendrika also said that the smart city application can later be used to separate the amount of tax that must be paid to the regional treasury and to the company’s treasury. The figures can also be checked directly on the website or application connected to the regional treasury.
“With the smart city, Klungkung Regency Government officials can monitor crowds at tourist objects in Klungkung,” he added.
On the implementation of the public lecture, he said that he hopes it will be able to increase students’ abilities by equipping themselves with an entrepreneurial spirit.
In addition, this event, he said, must be used as an opportunity to gain knowledge as well as possible so that later it can increase employment opportunities after college.
“I hope everyone can attend this public lecture as well as possible as a provision to increase knowledge and look forward to a brighter future,” he said.
On the same occasion, Minister of Youth and Sports Ario Bimo Nandito Ariotedjo, whose message was read out by Acting Regent Jendrika, said that the 1928 Youth Pledge was an event when Indonesian youth expressed a strong determination and will to unite amidst the reality of diversity to create the State of Indonesia.
He was also said to appreciate the positive contributions of all stakeholders who have and continue to provide good youth services and for the achievements of the leadership and pioneering contributions of Indonesian youth in various fields of development.
“A great and prosperous Indonesia calls for the participation and fight of Indonesian youth,” he said.
Acting Regent Jendrika added that the youth in Klungkung Regency have a great potential to reach Golden Indonesia 2045. This can be seen from the emergence of superior young people from various fields, such as academics, sports, social, and culture.
These young people should be encouraged to maintain the Republic of Indonesia, especially in Klungkung Regency, in order to participate in creating the Golden Generation of 2045.
