DENPASAR – King of Klungkung Ida Dewa Agung Jambe was finally officially declared as a national hero.
The coronation of Ida Dewa Agung was held at Istana Negara by the President of the Republic of Indonesia Joko Widodo on Friday (10/11).
Acting Governor of Bali, Acting Klungkung Regent I Made Kasta, and the Head of the Social Service for Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection of Klungkung Regency I Gusti Agung Putra Maha Jaya as well as the heir of Ida Dalem Semaraputra were also present at the coronation.
“I am proud for the title of national hero is given to King of Klungkung Ida Dewa Agung Jambe. Thank you to all parties who stand up to obtain this honorary title,” said Acting Klungkung Regent Made Caste.
Made wants the future elected regent of Klungkung will prioritize building project of statue of Ida Dewa Agung.
Apart from that, he also wants the name of Ida Dewa Agung will be used as one of street name in Klungkung.
Regarding the location, he urge meeting coordination between regional government and Klungkung Palace.
So that the statue not only pays attention to its aesthetic function, its ethics and philosophy, but also its motto; “Dharmaning Kesatria Mahotama”.
Raja Klungkung Ida Dewa Agung Jambe became the first National Hero from Klungkung Regency.
He is one of six figures who received the title of national hero this year.
The 2023 national hero title was determined based on Presidential Decree Number 115-TK-TH2023 dated November 6 2023.
Ida Dewa Agung Jambe is the king of the Klungkung Kingdom. He and all members of the royal family, including the crown prince, died during the Klungkung war.
April 28, 1908, Ida Dewa Agung Jambe together with his family and people chose “Puputan” or war against the Dutch colonialists.
“After a long process and wait, Ida Dewa Agung Jambe was finally declared as a national hero. I am very grateful and happy and of course also the Puri family and the Klungkung community. Thank you to the Klungkung Regional Government which has been overseeing this process,” said Ida Inside Semaraputra.
