JAKARTA – Minister of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB) Abdullah Azwar Anas credits the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for establishing close diplomatic relations with various countries.
The role of the ministry, headed by Retno Marsudi, is closely linked to the issue of bureaucratic reform, namely the growth of investment in the country.
The diplomacy conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has a real impact on the investment climate in Indonesia.
“Today, we appreciate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its performance, which continues to grow positively, including encouraging investment in various diplomatic functions,” he said during a meeting with Minister Retno at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Jakarta on Friday (4/10).
Minister Anas appreciated that the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has improved the services at the various consulates-general scattered around the world.
He also praised the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ performance in strengthening the merit system and governance.
In addition to playing a role in increasing investment, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also plays a role in promoting domestic products and increasing the market penetration of domestic products in the global arena.
Further recognition was given to Indonesia’s role in global negotiations to reduce trade barriers. This includes playing a role in promoting technology cooperation through the implementation of a digital strategy.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ efforts to promote performance accountability also continue to show positive developments,” said Minister Anas.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ 2023 Bureaucratic Reform Index (BRI) score is in category A-. The index is higher than the average national BRI score of ministries/institutions.
In 2023, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ score in the Government Agency Performance Accountability System (SAKIP) is in the BB or Very Good category.
From 2017 to 2023, there are 12 work units of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs that have successfully obtained the title of Corruption Free Region (WBK). Five other work units received the title of Clean and Serving Bureaucratic Area (WBBM).
Meanwhile, Minister of Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi said that this meeting was to review the achievements, shortcomings, and suggestions for improvement from the Ministry of PANRB.
“And if things like this continue to improve, Insha Allah, Indonesia’s bureaucratic reform will be achieved and sustained in the future,” Minister Retno concluded.
