THE EDITOR – Member of the House of Representatives (DPR) and Chairman & Shareholder of Panasonic Gobel Group Rachmat Gobel supports the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision by participating in building sustainable housing and cities.
As is known, Panasonic Gobel Indonesia is a pioneer in encouraging local component supply companies. Until 2004, the National name changed to Panasonic.
In an international seminar titled Sustainable Housing, Building and Cities in Indonesia, Panasonic-GOBEL showcased one of PT Panasonic Homes Gobel Indonesia’s innovative residential projects, SAVASA, a Japanese-quality smart city in Deltamas City, Cikarang.
“A home is not only a place to live, but also a symbol of status, comfort, and stability. Home is the foundation for the formation of the Golden Family, which is the main pillar towards Golden Indonesia,” said Rachmat in his speech at the Fairmont Hotel on Wednesday (16/1/2025).
Rachmat also affirmed the company’s support for the government’s programme in improving housing quality and sustainable urbanisation.
“We at Gobel Group, through Panasonic, are committed to supporting the government’s efforts in creating decent and sustainable housing solutions. Through technological innovation and strategic collaboration, we believe we can make a real contribution to realising the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision,” he said.
In addition, Rachmat Gobel highlighted the big challenge faced by Indonesia, where 15.21% of people, or around 10.74 million families, do not own a house.
The government itself is known to be setting a target of building 3 million houses per year under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto with the support of a budget allocation of IDR 5.27 trillion and various housing subsidies.
However, achieving this target requires close collaboration between the government, private sector, and international partners.
INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR HELD TO SUPPORT GOLDEN INDONESIA 2045

The Ministry of Housing and Settlement (PKP) held an international seminar entitled Sustainable Housing, Building, and Cities in Indonesia.
The seminar was a collaboration between the Indonesian government, The Building Center of Japan (BCJ), the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), the Organisation of Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD), and the Japan International Association for Urban Development, Building and Housing (JUBH).
The event aimed to explore sustainable solutions to the challenges of urbanisation and housing in Indonesia with the support of the Japanese Embassy in Indonesia, JICA Indonesia Office, JETRO Jakarta Office, Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN), and Jakarta Japan Club.
The seminar was attended by Fahri Hamzah as Deputy Minister of Housing and Settlement Areas (PKP), Basuki Hadimujono as Head of the Authority of the Capital City of Nusantara (OIKN) and his staff, Masaki Yasushi F as Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia, and prominent international speakers, such as Hiroto Izumi as Honorary Advisor of JUBH, Yoshiki Takeuchi as Deputy Secretary General of OECD, Tetsuya Watanabe as President of ERIA, and Masao Omori as Mayor of Okayama and OECD Champion Mayor.
GOBEL GROUP AND PANASONIC COMMIT TO GREEN DEVELOPMENT
Rachmat Gobel said that his company supports the Golden Indonesia 2045 Vision by presenting relevant technological innovations to meet the needs of the Indonesian people displayed through booths at the event location, such as providing Survivor Energy Storage Solutions to improve national energy efficiency, providing Smart and Energy-Saving LED Systems to support environmentally friendly urbanisation and providing Water (Panasonic WPS) and Air (Supply Air Fan) Filter systems to improve better quality of life.
During the seminar, Panasonic-GOBEL also showcased one of PT Panasonic Homes Gobel Indonesia’s innovative residential projects, SAVASA, a Japanese-quality smart city in Deltamas City, Cikarang.
SAVASA itself is known to integrate the latest technologies such as the Complete Air Management System (CAMS), which is a solution to deliver high-quality indoor air through integrated operations. With four basic concepts – Smart Township, Smart Security, Smart Home, and Smart Community – SAVASA offers a green environment, modern living and earthquake-resistant features that support sustainable lifestyles.
Other Panasonic-GOBEL projects are also on display, such as the lighting at national landmarks Gelora Bung Karno Stadium and Prambanan Temple.
“This is tangible proof of the company’s contribution in supporting sustainable development as the key to realising the Golden Indonesia 2045 in accordance with the campaign “Create Today. Enrich Tomorrow,” he said.
COLLABORATION FOR A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE
The seminar, said Rahmat, was an important momentum for Panasonic-GOBEL to explore cooperation opportunities with various parties. The Panasonic-GOBEL booth not only displayed products, but also became a centre for strategic discussions relevant to the national agenda.
“With its active participation in this event, Gobel Group with its subsidiary Panasonic reaffirms its commitment to contribute to sustainable development in Indonesia, supporting the creation of decent housing and environmentally friendly cities for future generations,” he said.
