Monitoring The Construction of UGM Innovation and Creativity Center, Minister Basuki Asks Everyone to Pay Attention to The Quality of Work

YOGYAKARTA – Before welcoming His Majesty The Emperor of Japanese Naruhito at the Yogyakarta Sabo Technical Center, the Minister of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono on Wednesday (21/6) monitored the construction of the Gadjah Mada University (UGM) Innovation and Creativity Center (GIK) building in Sleman Regency.

Basuki advised all staff at the D.I Yogyakarta Regional Settlement Infrastructure Center (BPPW) and to PT Waskita Karya-PT Amarta Karya (KSO) as the implementing contractor to pay more attention to the quality of the work.

“Pay close attention to the quality of the work. Everything must be neat, including when you do the finishing. Supervision by the supervision consultant must also be strict,” he said.

The building of GIK UGM is located around the UGM campus at Pancasila Street, Caturtunggal, Sleman Regency, D.I Yogyakarta.

The construction of this student facility began in June 2022 with a state budget of ID557 billion.

“The construction progress is now at 44.059% with the target for completion, according to the contract, is February 2024,” said the Head of BPPW D.I Yogyakarta Jonny Zainuri Echsan.

The GIK UGM building area consists of 8 zones designed to be used as a means of strengthening Human Resources (HR) through the provision of educational infrastructure and a meeting place for students from various faculties at UGM.

Zone A with an area of 4,514 m² with a 3-floor building consisting of the 1st floor (commercial building, lobby library, toilet), 2nd floor (library, lobby library), and 3rd floor (roof garden).

Zone B with an area of 12,736 m² consists of floor 1 (parking for 76 cars and 144 motorbikes, retail, toilets), floor mezzanine (parking for 60 motorbikes), floor 2 (sport hall, gym, toilets), and floor 3 (roof garden).

Zone C with an area of 13,470 m² consists of the 1st floor (student center, classroom, gallery, toilet), 2nd floor (administrative room, classroom, gallery, toilet), and 3rd floor (roof garden, mechanical electrical room, multifunction).

Zone D with an area of 27,253 m² consists of a basement floor parking area with a capacity of 108 cars and 333 motorcycles, 1st floor (co-learning, retail, gallery, toilet), 2nd floor (perfunction, office, toilet), and 3rd floor (roof garden, MEP room, multipurpose building).

Zone E with an area of 2,792 m² consists of the 1st floor (retail, office lobby), 2nd floor (office and corridor), and the 3rd floor for roof garden.

Zone F with an area of 19,232 m² consists of the 1st floor (office and toilets), 2nd floor (amphitheater, plaza, office, stage, ticketing), 3rd floor (office, auditorium, toilets and control room), and the 4th floor (roof garden).

The BNI zone with an area of 1,865 m² consists of the 1st floor (lobby, commercial, power house, rent office, kitchen, toilet), 2nd floor (perfunction, office, toilet), 3rd floor (lobby, data center, meeting room, staging room, command center, toilet), 4th floor (DSDI office, work space, toilet), and roof garden on the roof floor.

Finally, the Joglo Zone is 1,366 m² with pavilion building facilities.

Also attending the event were Acting Director General of Water Resources Jarot Widyoko and Expert Staff to the Minister for Technology, Industry and Environment Endra S. Atmawidjaja.
