Episodes and Launch Dates: Sally’s Taste / January 21 @ 6PM 

At Pondok Sunny, a lively Indonesian eatery in Hsinchu, Sally, a spirited restaurateur in her sixties, brings the flavors of her homeland to life. Together with her daughter, Jocelin, Sally has turned the restaurant into a cultural hub where food, tradition, and community intertwine. Their summer cooking classes for second-generation immigrant children celebrate the joy of sharing heritage through cuisine. 

Melati’s Moves / January 28 @ 6PM 

A passionate PhD student in Dance Studies at Taipei National University of the Arts, Melati finds inspiration in migrant workers’ impromptu performances at a train station. Her workshops and mentorship empower women through dance, fostering a sisterhood that celebrates resilience, solidarity, and self-expression.

 

Nita’s Voice / February 4 @ 6PM 

Nita, a factory worker who escaped an abusive marriage, finds solace and strength in singing. Teaching music lessons to fellow Indonesian workers, she fosters community and rebuilds her self-confidence. Nita’s transformative journey and her heartfelt messages to her child illuminate the healing power of music and hope. 

Pindy’s Craft / February 11 @ 6PM 

An Indonesian caregiver, Pindy discovers the delicate art of dough figurine making, blending Indonesian and Taiwanese cultural traditions in her creations. Encouraged by her employer, Pindy’s artistry bridges cultures and inspires others to explore their creativity while preserving their cultural heritage. 

Ela and Rick’s Journey / February 18 @ 6PM 

Ela, a social worker, and Ricky, a PhD student, navigate life in Taiwan while preserving their Indonesian heritage for their nine-year-old son, Zane. Through festivals, multilingual parenting, and cultural engagement, they ensure that their son stays connected to his roots, creating a legacy that spans generations.
