MAKASSAR – The Mayor of Makassar Mohammad Ramdhan Pomanto, familiarly known as Danny Pomanto, is always very excited to introduce his city to the world.
Just like what he did in an international seminar held by the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, Tuesday (25/10).
The 6th EPI International Conference on Science and Engineering (EICSE2022) was themed “Strengthening IUG-Based Research and Digital Innovation for Supporting The Sustainability and Development Goals”.
Danny, who was appointed as a keynote speaker in the seminar, introduced Makassar’s progress as a city that aims to become a metropolis.
“There are four components to make a city successful. Move faster, be strong, be better and adapt immediately. This is what leaders must do in order to survive and not be left behind by all forms of rapid change,” said Danny.
Culture, he said, is one that he also included in his work program as Mayor in Makassar.
According to Danny, this program is important, so that in its progress later, the people of Makassar will remember their roots and origins.
And to make his city a comfortable city, Danny has prepared a number of technology-based programs.
In a journal entitled Effectiveness of Smart City Applications for Smartphone Users to Create a Comfortable City for All in Makassar City, it is known that several programs have been built by Danny.
The journal was published by the Sulawesi University of Technology with Sartika Dwi Hardiyanti and Christine Andu Purnamasari as the authors.
Among those programs are the digital puskesmas (112 service) and the War Room.
The digital puskesmas also known as Makassar Home Care, a health service that aims to give service right at the residents’ homes.
It is stated in the journal that, if Makassar City residents need health services at home, they only need to contact the 112 call center.
After that, the call center will contact the nearest puskesmas to immediately send the Dottorota (our doctor) team to the patient’s house.
112 call center is a toll-free service and can be accessed by both mobile and landline users.
Since it’s a toll-free service, it still can be reached if the phone doesn’t have credit and even when the phone is locked. The public can also contact this service through all providers.
This 112 service include: homecare car services, services from the Public Works Service, PLN, fallen tree posts, police, PDAM, ambulances, firefighters, cleaning, social services, PD parking, and regional general hospital services.
The existence of this service makes Makassar residents no longer need to remember dozens of available public service numbers. They only need to call 112, then all public service needs can be obtained.
On the other hand, War Room is an operational space for the Makassar City government to combat problems in society.
The government can monitor the activities of the entire city through 115 CCTVs spread in strategic locations from inside the room.
Smart RT/RW or Makassar Smart City is an application that is used by the community to convey general and social problems online.
It is also devoted to the head of the RT/RW who has made a smartphone application, that they can report the problem of their region by using the app.
The reports will be reviewed directly by the Mayor of Makassar and the people of the city of Makassar.
This application can be obtained by smartphone users by downloading it on the playstore.
The service number 112 is connected to the Makassar City Government War Room.
The integration of 112 services is carried out so that the team can contact the nearest home care health service and immediately send a team consisting of doctors, nurses, and drivers to the patient’s home.
Everything is done and obtained for free through the Makassar City Smart City program.
Home care health services in question are proffesional medical team officers who come to the patient’s location, with standardized medicines and equipment to give the treatment in their place.
